V-Light and Hand Tied Hair Extensions

If you’re looking for fuller, longer hair, you may want to consider hair extensions. If you are experiencing hair loss or thinning from weight loss, hormones, covid, stress or other health implications v-light hair extensions can help to fill in areas that are thin, close to the hair line, and give you your confidence back. Hair extensions are a long-lasting, easy to care for way to achieve more volume, more length, or both. Here at G Marie Beauty CO, we offer both v-light and hand-tied hair extensions, which don’t damage your natural hair like other types of extensions might.

Hair extensions can be confusing, so we’ve answered some of the most common questions below.

Do hand-tied hair extensions damage my natural hair?

Our first concern when it comes to any hair service is keeping your natural hair healthy. v-light hair extensions use a light cured resin not glue and  Hand-tied extensions don’t use glue or tape that might damage your hair, and they are easy to maintain as well. You can use shampoo, conditioner, and hair products like normal with both v-light and hand-tied extensions, so your natural hair doesn’t have to suffer and you don’t need to change up your hair routine.

Can I curl or style v-light and hand-tied hair extensions?

v-light and Hand-tied hair extensions can be brushed, combed, styled, and even curled like normal. Keep in mind that if you style your hair with heat, you should use a heat protectant first to protect both your natural hair and your extensions. For v-light extensions heat should not exceed 120 degrees near the bonds. this ensures bond integrity. these types of hair extensions are very secure, so you can feel free to style it like you would your natural hair.

How long do the extensions last?

You can typically expect your hand-tied extensions to last anywhere from six months to a year with proper care and maintenance. v-light extensions require a mini fill every 3-4 weeks and a full fill every 6 weeks. V-light hair extensions shed out normally as your nautural hair sheds (similarly to the way lash extensions shed and need filled). We’ll tell you exactly how you should care for your extensions to get the most longevity out of them, and you can always call us with questions as well.

Full Hair Extension Installation

For the initial installation of V-light extensions, you can typically expect to be at the salon for two hours depending on the number of zones you need to achieve your hair goals.

For the initial installation of hand tied hair extensions, you can typically expect to be at the salon for three to four hours, depending on how many extensions you need to achieve your look. Hand-tied extensions are much quicker than microbeads, but can take longer than tape-in extensions.

With proper installation, your hair extensions will be comfortable and will blend in with your natural hair seamlessly. It may take a day or so to get used to the sensation of having the extensions in, but eventually you shouldn’t even notice them.

Hair Extension Maintenance

v-light hair extensions need to have a mini fill every 3 weeks and a full fill every 6 weeks. after the initial install you will come in for a follow-up appointment within the first seven days where you will receive complimentary blowout and mini fill if necessary. Hand-tied hair extensions need to be maintained approximately every 4 to 6 weeks. As your natural hair grows out, your extensions will drop and put more tension on your scalp. In addition, you’ll find it harder to brush and style your hair, and the extensions may be more noticeable.

Full extension maintenance involves completely taking out the extensions and then re-tying them in. This maintenance is necessary to keep your hair, scalp, color, and extensions looking and feeling good.

Mini Move Up

If you’ve just had a bit of growth and have taken good care of your extensions, you may just need your extensions to be moved up a little bit. This procedure is relatively quick and easy, and can help to extend the life of your extensions as well as keep your scalp healthy.

How Much Does Extensions Cost?

The pricing for hair extension installation does not include the cost of the hair extensions themselves. Hair extensions can range in price depending on length, quality, and the need for it to be human hair (not synthetic). We’ll help you to decide which type of extensions are right for you during your initial consultation, when you tell us your hair goals.
